HERD Research runs an open-science portfolio — an infrasound early-warning network, a humane jellyfish program, an open science library, and early bioacoustic research. You can reserve a sensor, sponsor a program as a company, or back the mission. Each path is deliberately separate — and we tell you exactly what your money does.
Put down a $25 fully-refundable deposit. It locks in a HERD One from Batch #1 and your numbered station — and you can take it back, in one click, any time before shipping.
Fund the R&D and get brand deliverables back — logo placement, naming, a CSR report. Because you receive value, your finance team can usually book it as a marketing / CSR expense.
Support the work directly — one-time or monthly — by card. 100% goes into R&D and the network. Backers get the open dev journal and a place on the founders wall.
One institute, one story. Sponsorship and gifts flow into a portfolio of programs — tell us where you want your name and your impact.
The $25 citizen sensor and cloud network for tsunami & eruption early warning across coastal Asia. Funds parts, calibration, firmware and the first pilot nodes.
Fund early warning →Bloom monitoring & prediction now; staged research on a humane acoustic barrier for resorts, desalination and utilities. Also our commercial track.
Fund the jellyfish work →270+ vetted sources across 13 topics, free for everyone. Sponsor keeps popular-science education open and translated.
Keep it open →Early-stage research treating animal calls as living low-frequency sensors. Best as a co-funded R&D or grant line — let's scope it honestly.
Co-fund research →Annual partnership levels. Every sponsor gets a deliverable they can show their board — and put on the books as marketing / CSR. Custom and multi-year packages on request.
A bare gift to a commercial company is usually not deductible and gives the donor no benefit. A sponsorship with deliverables (your brand placed, a CSR report delivered) is normally a legitimate marketing / CSR expense your company can deduct. Larger partners can instead structure co-funded R&D, which in Thailand may qualify for an enhanced deduction under BOI / Revenue Department R&D incentives.
This is general information, not tax advice. Treatment depends on your jurisdiction and entity — confirm with your accountant. HERD is operated by HERD Network, LLC (Delaware, US); local invoicing can be arranged for Thai sponsors. Download one-pager for your board → · Developer R&D packages →
Property developers, hotels and large anchor partners have dedicated programmes. Pick the one that fits you.
Co-fund coastal R&D and structure it for impact — qualifying work may earn the Thai 200% R&D tax deduction.
Developer R&D packages → CPA brief in Thai →Our deepest R&D programme: a named institute for a lead anchor partner — the top way to fund and shape the mission.
See the Research Center →Back a research-grade reference station on a remote ocean island — the precision tier of the hybrid network. A distinct, named line, coming after the first cheap node is proven.
The hybrid network →Host a sensor, help protect guests, and join the coastal early-warning network as a hotel partner.
Hotels programme →The simplest way is a direct card payment — one-time or whenever you like. Prefer crypto or bank transfer? Write to us.
Presets from $5 to $200 or any custom amount. Secure card payment via Stripe; appears on your statement as “HERD NETWORK, LLC”. Not a tax-deductible charitable gift.
HERD Network, LLC is a for-profit research company, so a direct gift to us is not a tax-deductible charitable donation. For donors and foundations who need a tax receipt, the honest route is a fiscal sponsor — a registered 501(c)(3) that hosts the mission's funds. We're setting one up on Open Collective and will link it here the day it's live.
Running a grant program, a foundation, or a large mission gift? Email [email protected] and we'll route it correctly (fiscal sponsor, grant agreement, or R&D co-funding).
Open Collective, GitHub Sponsors, Patreon and Ko-fi accounts are being set up — we'll list them here the day each one is actually live. For now, the card path above works and every contribution lands in the public quarterly report.
When Batch #1 hardware is ready we'll run a launch campaign on Crowd Supply (open-hardware specialists) and Kickstarter / Indiegogo. Want to be notified or partner on the campaign? Get in touch or join the waitlist.
